100-Day Clothing Brand Building Course

How Often Should You Update Your Website?

Before We Begin

Most people start a clothing brand without understanding product creation, sourcing, marketing, pricing, and brand building. This 100-day course is built to help you understand the path before you start working on it.

This course is created from the real experience of building and scaling Offnorth Fashions into a multi-crore clothing brand over the last 6+ years.

I get these questions from founders all the time.

  • “How often should I update my website?”

  • “Should I change my product listings every week?”

  • “If I touch my site too often, will it hurt SEO? And if I don’t touch it at all, will I lose rankings?”

These are great questions, and I get why they confuse so many people.

Here’s the truth: Google loves fresh, relevant content, but it also values stability. If you keep changing things randomly, like deleting old pages, changing URLs, or moving products around, you’ll confuse both your customers and Google’s crawlers.

On the flip side, if you don’t update anything for a year, your site starts to feel outdated.

So, what’s the sweet spot?

Think of your website like a retail store. You don’t rebuild the store every week, but you do change the displays, update offers, bring in seasonal products, and refresh the shelves. Your core structure - the walls, the layout stays the same.

For your website, that means the About page, Contact page, and key product category pages should stay consistent unless something big changes in your business.

But your dynamic sections like blogs, homepage banners, and product descriptions should get more attention regularly.

Now, about adding products, you don’t have to push new items every single week unless you genuinely have them ready and they fit your brand story. Adding just for the sake of “activity” doesn’t help.

Instead, focus on quality launches. If you introduce a new T-shirt design, don’t just upload it quietly. Create a mini launch around it, give it a story.

Show people why it’s here. That way, even a single new product can create more buzz than dumping ten unnoticed ones into your catalogue.

One more thing: even if a product hasn’t changed, you can still give it a refresh. Update the photos, add customer reviews, rewrite the description with a bit more storytelling, or add styling tips.

These small changes tell Google your site is active and tell customers you care about keeping things fresh.

So, should you update your website often? Yes, but with purpose. Not because a blog told you “Google likes new content,” but because your updates make your store better, clearer, and more valuable for the customer.
