The "Speed Breaker" Phase (And How to Cross It)
Most people start a clothing brand without understanding product creation, sourcing, marketing, pricing, and brand building. This 100-day course is built to help you understand the path before you start working on it.
This course is created from the real experience of building and scaling Offnorth Fashions into a multi-crore clothing brand over the last 6+ years.
Already, we discussed scaling the brand once you see the initial traction.
But what if there is no initial traction?
You built the website, you set up the WhatsApp and email automations, and you finally hit "Go" on those Google and Meta ad campaigns. You’ve spent ₹10,000, maybe ₹20,000.
And then... nothing. Or maybe just one or two sales.
You’re checking your phone every ten minutes, right? Waiting for that notification sound. But it stays silent. Now the doubt is creeping in. "Is my product bad? Is my website broken? Did I just waste all this money?"
Let me ask you: Do you feel like you’re hitting a wall right now?
If the answer is yes, I have some news for you, and it’s actually good news. This is exactly where the real brand building begins.
Or, mostly if you haven’t reached this stage yet (most probably you haven’t yet), you will surely reach this phase.
Most people think building a brand is a straight line. You do Step A, then Step B, and then the money starts flowing. But in reality, there is a massive "Confusion Gap" between setting everything up and actually seeing success.
Don't worry. This happens to 101 out of 100 founders (101 is not a mistake!). It happened to me, and it happens to every big brand you see today. You aren't failing; you've just reached the first Speed Breaker.
Up until now, you had a roadmap. You knew how to design a website because you had references. You knew how to use AI tools like ChatGPT or Gemini to write your copy. You were confident because you were "doing the work."
But now, the "work" isn't about clicking buttons anymore. It's about solving a puzzle where you don't even know what the missing piece looks like.
That’s the real problem, right? You don't know what to do next.
This is exactly what you have to do next!
Imagine you’re riding a bicycle. You’re pedalling hard, feeling the wind, and suddenly — BAM. You hit a huge, bumpy speed breaker you didn't see coming. You stop dead.
Now, you’re standing right in front of that bump, trying to pedal from a standstill. It’s heavy. It’s exhausting. It feels impossible to move that cycle forward just by pushing harder from zero.
So, what do you do?
If you understand physics, you know you need momentum.
-
Go Back: Stop trying to force the ad spend for a second. Move 50 or 100 meters back.
-
Analyse: Look at the bump from a distance. Why is it stopping you?
-
Charge: Start pedaling from that distance. Get your speed up. By the time you reach the bump again, your momentum will carry you over it effortlessly.
In business, "going back" means going back to the basics.
It is finding the "No".
In the marketing world, there is a golden rule: If it’s not clear, the answer is "No."
If a customer lands on your site and has even one tiny doubt that isn't answered, they leave. They don't know you. They don't trust you yet. Your job isn't just to show them a product; it’s to remove every single "Speed Breaker" in their mind.
Ask yourself these questions:
-
Is my offer too good to say no to? (If they say no, your offer might be too weak.
-
Where is the trust gap? Do I have reviews? Is my "About Us" page real?
-
Am I listening? Don't just sit and stare at your ad dashboard. Go into the "Abandoned Checkouts." Look at the phone numbers. Call them. Talk to the people who almost bought but didn't. Ask them, "Hey, I saw you were interested — was there something missing?"
Check your session recordings. Are people getting stuck on a certain page? Is a button not working on certain phones?
Stop the negative self-talk. You aren't "stuck"; you are just gathering momentum.
Your mission today is to find one "Speed Breaker" on your website — a missing bit of info, a confusing price, or a lack of trust — and remove it. Once you clear the path, that cycle is going to fly.
Are you ready to stop pushing and start pedalling?
I love that energy. Let’s get to work.
